From July 7-17, Birmingham, Alabama, will play host to the 2022 World Games, and residents of the upscale Retreat at Mountain Brook apartment home community will be able to take easy advantage of all the energy and events the international extravaganza is bringing to the Magic City.
The World Games
The Games, which will showcase 3,600 of the world’s best athletes in 30-plus unique, multi-disciplinary sports, from Boules to DanceSport with all manner of ball sports, martial arts, and more in between, are also an historic event—the competition hasn’t been in the United States since it was first held in Santa Clara, California, in 1981.
Tourist In Your Own Back Yard
When you’re not watching competition at an elite level, you can play tourist in your own back yard—check out the Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau suggested itineraries for World Games visitors, and make plans to finally visit gems like the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum and the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
